Another day with lotsta see

There is rarely a day without interesting things to see.  On our dog walk this morning it seemed that the fruit bat colony in Commonwealth Park has expanded its boundaries: they were in different trees on the outskirts of their previous territories.
A Great Cormorant showing the white breeding patch.
After getting the Jetta checked for re-registering in the ACT I went for a stroll to Kellys Swamp to log Bird of the Day.
Spoonbills are easy to score at Mallacoota and Darters easy in Lake Burley Griffin so neither of them rated as BotD.
This was a nice pose by the Dartyer!
There are 4 Black-fronted Dotterels in this image!  Another 2 were nearby.  Although they can be common in the area they are not a "gimme" so became BotD!
In the afternoon evening there were lots of clouds around, including a rainbow generator in the general direction of Carwoola.
Ominous to the NE ...
.. and to the NW
We thought we were going to get damp walking to Ainslie School to collect #1 Grand-daughter, but nothing came of it.  Later, the Target car park got wet but the cars parked in the street just got muddy splotches on them so much of the ominosity was dust rather than rain..

Sunset was pretty good!
