A few icons round off the trip.

The sun rose this morning and I got a reasonable sequence.  I haven't quite framed them exactly the same but I hope you get the idea.  The first one is 0553 and the last 0624.

In between taking those I glanced up at the tree next door and for the first time this trip there was Fat Person!

As we left on the dog walk about 0730 he had moved down towards the trunk and when we returned about 45 minutes after that he had vanished completely.

For once our luck was in with Council collections, getting the garbage picked up about 0545 and the recycling at 1010 - we left at 1015.

Aswe headed along Genoa Rd I noticed an Ambulance coming behind us and although he didn't have lights or siren in action I thought it polite to get out of his way.  He toddled off a little quicker than us - I presume he wasn't concerned about a potentially nauseous chunder-pooch.  We'd caught up to. him by Imlay Rd where we turned off.

We counted the log trucks on the road and got to 10 - about one every 5km.  I guess that is why the Forests people built the road.  Wewondered how many times we would have to stop for road works as there was quite a lot of activity on the way down.  They had finished all that stuff in the first 54km apart from the road metal being a bit loose and having 60kph signs everywhere.  However we did get stopped for 5 minutes right at the end.  The guy on the sign explained, pleasantly, that ...
.. his mates had dropped a tree across the road!  Note stump on the LHS.
It looks as though they may be thinking about a climbing lane here which wopul;d be a good idea.

On, on to Bombala where a comfort stop was taken next to the the pool where this collection was seen.  The black object in the bottom right was Louie da Fly (icon #2)!!
They had a very pleasant looking picnic area beside the river, and plenty of punters taking advantage of it.  And missing the traffic in the main street!
The third and final icon was this echidna which walked right across the main street of Nimmitabel and then headed off down the pavement.
I have subsequently spoken to the owner of the shop in front of which the photo was taken.  She advised that the brass disc is not commemorating Ben Hall composing the Nimmitabel letter  on the premises but merely capping off what used to be a fuel tank when the place sold petrol some years back.

We got home at about 3pm.  The Jetta averaged 5l/100km both ways which was rather good.  My final bird count was 83 species.
