Leaves and wet places

This covers some of our activities in Canberra and nearby.  The first set are manly about Autumn leaves, beginning in Glebe Park.

We walked around Reid and found that someone had carefully swept all the leaves off their nature strip into the gutter.  Could be fun if it rains!  (I do wonder at their optimism that 'someone' will come a take the leaves away.)
Back to Glebe Park, near the toilet block.
This is the best capture of the light through the canopy.
The next morning workers on a building site had blown the leaves off the pavement into the road.  In other places on Allara St big piles of leaves were evident: will the Government send a truck?
Much bird netting was evident for Floriade.  Also quite a few workers doing something in their fluro.
The largest of the many camellia bushes.
Colourful reflection in Nerang Pool.
On the Friday afternoon we went to Bungendore to check the birdlife.  It appears that after an absence of some years Plumed Whistling-Ducks are returning to the Trucking Yard Lane dam.  And one (all that is needed for Bird a Day) was there.
On to the Lake Rd dam where there was a still large area of water.  A distant flock of Pink-eared Ducks were good to see.
We went on down the road to marvel at the expanse of water in Lake George.  It seem impossible to think of this being bone dry only a few years ago!

I like the windmills here.  Apart from them being attractive in their own right they used to annoy the Federal MP for North Sydney, Joe Hockey, and if Joe's against something, its got to be good.

The sunset viwed from our apartment was good.
