Tonka rules!
Many years ago I asked a Canberra cabbie why the Canberra Airport was such a disaster area of building sites. His response was "George Snow's mum wouldn't buy him a Tonka Truck for his his 5th birthday. He is now overcompensating." Fast forward to this morning and a City Parks guy said to me "An excavator and a demolition site, and we all revert to childhood." I don't remember my mum refusing to buy me a Tonka, but here are some snaps which support the latter assertion. The nice chimney in the foreground is on the house occupied by the manager of Fawkner Park. Note falling rubble! I would not like the job of the guy on the RHS! Certainly he would not want to annoy the driver of the excavator!
