A Pobblebonk and some August updates
While doing some gardening Frances stirred around in some lucerne mulch and a fist-sized frog emerged. It was unusually cooperative and waited for me to return with my camera. I have since confirmed that it is a Pobblebonk (I don't know what pobbles are, or what bonks them) or Eastern Banjo Frog (Lymnodynastes dumerelii).
An overall view
This shows the white stripe on the face and the very limited webbing on the front feet.
Another image enabled me to crop to this shot of the frog's eye which I find very inriguing.
